Senate passes NDAA, 86-14
The Senate approved the $741 billion National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal 2021 by a 86-14 bipartisan vote, including provisions to force removal of Confederate names from military bases. President Trump has threatened a veto if the Confederate names are not preserved on bases.
The House NDAA also has provisions to remove the Confederate names. A joint House-Senate bill will be negotiated in the coming weeks.
