$15 min wage for contractors

The Biden Administration is moving forward on plans to raise the minimum wage for federal employees and contractors to $15 per hour, National Economic Council Director Brian Deese said in a press call.

Biden on Jan. 22 ordered the Office of Personnel Management to develop a plan for a $15 minimum wage for federal employees. The president also intends for federal contractors to be covered, Deese said.

Within 100 days, Biden is expected to issue an executive order “requiring federal contractors to pay at least a $15 minimum wage and provide emergency paid leave to workers,” Deese said, according to reports.
