DOD’s effort to help small biz find US investors
DOD recently launched its online Trusted Capital Marketplace Initiative to help its small and medium-sized vendors find trusted U.S. investors. The online portal is located at https://dodtrustedcapital.force.com/s/.
The goal of the project is help the vendors obtain capital and to prevent DOD contractors from accepting capital from adversarial foreign firms, which may take advantage of the U.S. advanced technologies in their home countries.
Contractors may apply to participate. DOD vets both the vendors and the investment firms. DOD officials said 11 investment firms and 128 contractors had signed up as of mid-January, according to Federal News Network.
