$15 minimum wage starts Jan 30

The Labor Dept. on Nov. 22 announced a final rule implementing President Joe Biden’s Executive Order to increase the hourly minimum wage to $15 for employees on covered federal contracts.

The final rule is effective on Jan. 30, 2022 in all U.S. states and territories.

The final rule also will eliminate the tipped minimum wage for federal contract employees by 2024.

The $15 minimum wage also applies to workers with disabilities and to outfitters and guides on federal lands.
