Autumn slump hits federal vendors

If work seems sluggish this month, it’s not your imagination: October, November and December are historically the slowest of the year for small business federal contracting. See our November 7, 2014 edition for the full study.

With the federal fiscal year’s start on Oct. 1, the three months of autumn ranked as the least active of the year for the five most recent fiscal years reviewed by Set-Aside Alert.

Activity picks up from January to June, hitting peaks in July, August and September.
