SBA accepts M-P applications 10/1
The Small Business Administration announced it will begin accepting applications for its new governmentwide mentor-protégé program starting Oct. 1. The program is available to all small businesses.
Applications for the “All Small Mentor-Protégé Program” will only be accepted from the SBA’s new online application website through http://certify.sba.gov.
“Any application received prior to October 1, 2016, or received in any other format other than through the certify.sba.gov web portal will not be considered,” the SBA said in its announcement.
The application process will be centralized in the SBA’s Washington, DC headquarters office.
Applicants must be registered in the System for Award Management ( http://www.SAM.gov) before registering at certify.sba.gov. Also, applicants will be required to complete an online training module as part of the application process, according to Jackie Unger, associate with the PilieroMazza PLLC law firm.
“The application will be entirely electronic and will require that certain supplemental documents, such as the certificate of completion for the online training module, signed mentor-protégé agreements, size determination letters, and other documents, be uploaded to certify.sba.gov or completed in narrative form through the web portal,” Unger wrote in a blog post.
