New disability forms July 25
Federal contractors must provide employees and job applicants with the newly revised Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability form starting on July 25. Until then, the previous form may be used.
The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) developed the revised CC-305 form. Significant changes include the addition of new conditions as disabilities and revised language of previous conditions.
For example, according to the Husch Blackwell law firm’s analysis, both current and previous cancer diagnoses are now considered disabilities. Also, developmental disabilities are newly added as intellectual disabilities.
Completion of the form is voluntary and the responses are confidential. OFCCP’s goal is for contractors to hire people with disabilities as 7% of their workforces (Section 503 AAP regulation at 41 CFR 60-741.45).
