Bill for preventing govcon conflicts of interest
Sen. Gary Peters, D-MI, has introduced a bill to prevent organizational conflicts of interest in federal acquisition. The bill aims to address current gaps in identifying and mitigating such conflicts.
The bill would require contractors to disclose existing and potential new conflicts. Federal agencies would need to assess and update procedures.
The bill currently is being reviewed by the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

SBA’s OA seeks budget increase
The SBA’s Office of Advocacy is asking for a $10.2 million budget in fiscal 2023, up from $9.2 million enacted in fiscal 2021. The enacted 2022 level was not available at the time the SBA prepared its written request. The office researches small business, comments on regulation and adjudicates certain types of disputes, among other duties.

The DOD on April 25 unveiled its new “Innovation Pathways” website providing information and links to DOD’s agencies that develop and purchase new and emerging technologies.
