VA, DOI, DOE and 8(a) less responsive

      The Veterans Affairs Dept. got a “D” rating for responsiveness to small business regulatory concerns in 2016, down from a “C” the year before, according to a new Small Business Administration report.

      The 2016 Annual Report from the SBA’s Office of the National Ombudsman was released last month. Most agencies got “A” grades overall.

      The report said the 8(a) Business Development program’s responsiveness dropped to a “B,” down from an “A” the year before. The Energy Dept.’s and Interior Dept.’s grades also fell to “B,” from “A.”

      The Homeland Security Dept.’s USCIS improved to an “A” from a “B” but ICE got “B” ratings for both years.
