2nd try for 2GIT awards
The General Services Administration has re-awarded its 2nd Generation Information Technology (2GIT) Blanket Purchase Agreements to more than 50 small businesses and more than 20 large firms, the agency announced on Feb. 23.
A previous round of 2GIT awards in November 2019 was derailed by protests. Those awards were canceled, corrective actions were made and a new solicitation was issued.
The second round already has been protested. How those protests will be resolved is unclear.
The 2GIT is a Best-In-Class acquisition vehicle developed with the Air Force to replace its NetCents2 contract for IT hardware, software and services. The estimated value of the BPAs is $5.5 billion over five years, GSA said in a news release.
The 79 awardees for the second round of 2GIT are composed of 58 small businesses and 21 not-small businesses, Nextgov reported. Nine new vendors were added, and five were cut. The small vendors span all the socio-economic categories.
