Affirmative Action portal to open
Registration starts Feb. 1
The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs is opening registration on Feb. 1 for its new Web portal for enforcing the government’s Affirmative Action policies.
Covered prime contractors and subcontractors must certify compliance with Affirmative Action programs by June 30, 2022.
Supply and service contractors and subcontractors that have a contract worth $50,000 or more and employ 50 or more workers must develop and maintain an Affirmative Action Program that complies with Exec. Order 11246 and Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act.
If a contractor has at least 50 employees and a contract of $150,000 or more, it also must comply with the Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act.
Contractors that are only construction contractors--and are not also supply and service contractors--are not required to certify compliance and should not register for the portal.
The Labor Dept. has published FAQs to address contractor questions.
