TDR should be canceled: IG

In its fourth report on concerns about the General Services Administration’s Transactional Data Reporting (TDR) pricing initiative, the GSA’s Office of Inspector General on Sept. 30 recommended canceling TDR.

The Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) disagreed with that advice and objected to two other IG recommendations.

The IG also reported that 7 out of 11 FAS contracting personnel interviewed agreed TDR should canceled.

“We found that price analyses performed by FAS contracting personnel cannot provide customer agencies with assurance that orders placed against MAS contracts will result in the lowest overall cost alternative,” the IG’s Sept. 30 report said.

The IG said TDR pricing information from offerors frequently was “unsupported, outdated, or...identified no comparable commercial sales.”
