Another shutdown?
As the end of the government’s fiscal year approaches on Sept. 30, concerns are rising of a possible government shutdown. At press time, House and Senate leaders were discussing a Continuing Resolution.
Adding to the alarm is that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-KY, has said Republicans will not vote to raise the debt ceiling, which is needed soon. Such votes previously have been bipartisan for decades to avoid a catastrophic default of the US Treasury.
