Industry seeks pandemic paid leave reimbursement extension
Industry groups are urging Congress to approve an extension of Section 3610 of the CARES Act to continue to allow the Defense Dept. to reimburse contractors for paid leave for their workers during the pandemic.
The Professional Services Council has asked for an extension until Dec. 31, 2020, or the end of the pandemic, whichever is first. If nothing is done, Section 3610 will expire on Sept. 30.
“Today, it is apparent that COVID-19’s impact will clearly extend beyond Sept. 30, 2020,” David Berteau, PSC president, wrote to congressional leaders on July 16.
