Government collaborates in acquiring tech
The government is effectively innovating by collaborating in its digital technology procurements in several federal agencies, according to a new report by the Partnership for Public Service and Maximus Federal.
The report identified four federal IT projects applying new approaches that can be models for other agencies:
- The White House’s U.S. Digital Service unit has a team-based model bringing together experts across the agency;
- The Homeland Security Dept.’s Procurement Innovation Lab is collaborating with agencies to expand procurement experimentations;
- The Justice Dept.’s Civil Rights Division contracted with the General Services Administration’s 18F user-focused IT development team to update the Americans with Disabilities Act website and make it more accessible and user friendly; and
- NASA is collaborating with industry to transform digital procurement, through its just-launched NASA Acquisition Innovation Launchpad.
