Timetable for certification changes for WOSBs

      The SBA recently released details on the timeline for its upcoming final rule to establish an online certification process, as well as an authorized third-party certification process, for WOSBs and EDWOSBs.

      The SBA said the final rule will be published on June 30, 2020, and will be effective 30 days later. Once the changes go into effect, self-certification as a WOSB or EDWOSB will not be allowed.

GSA MAS mod coming Jan. 31

      GSA announced that Phase Two of the Schedules consolidation is beginning. Current contractors will start receiving MAS modifications for each contract on Jan. 31. GSA also released a MAS Mod checklist and the MAS Quarterly Newsletter.

Rule for surplus to go to small biz in PR

      The SBA issued a proposed rule to distribute federal surplus property for disaster recovery to certain small businesses and veteran-owned businesses in Puerto Rico. The goal is to set procedures for determining which firms may participate.
