Carranza gets a hearing
Eight months after she was named by President Trump to lead the Small Business Administration, Jovita Carranza’s nomination is finally coming to the Senate, which must approve her appointment.
On Dec. 11, Carranza’s nomination was scheduled to be the subject of a Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee hearing.
Carranza currently is the U.S. Treasurer. She previously was the deputy administrator of the SBA from December 2006 to January 2009.
Previous SBA Administrator Linda McMahon left the post in April. Chris Pilkerton is serving as acting administrator and general counsel.
