Runway law in effect Jan. 6
The Small Business Administration issued a final rule to implement the “Runway Extension” law of 2018, allowing vendors to calculate their average annual revenues for size standards over five years, rather than three.
The rule goes into effect Jan. 6. However, the SBA is allowing contractors a two-year transition period in which they can choose either the five-year or three-year averaging.
To promote consistency, the SBA also is adopting the five-year averaging period for all revenue-based size standards, not just services. This does not apply to SBA loans.
