SBA to revise size standards
Affects 46 industries
The Small Business Administration announced a proposed rule to expand size standards for 46 industries in three sectors. If it becomes final, it would result in approximately 2,600 more companies being defined as “small” and eligible for small business set-asides, loans and other benefits.
Public comments are due by Jan. 12, 2021.
The NAICS sectors covered in the proposed rule are:
- Sector 54: Professional, Scientific and Technical Services, 27 industries;
- Sector 55: Management of Companies and Enterprises, 2 industries; and
- Sector 56: Administrative and Support and Waste Management and Remediation Services, 17 industries.
The proposed rule is part of the five-year review of small business size standards, as required under the Small Business Jobs Act of 2010.
