Transition Upheaval
Firings, quitting in protest
The presidential transition has had a rocky start as President Trump fired Defense Secretary Mark Esper on Nov. 9. Later that day, Richard Pilger, top election crimes prosecutor at DOJ, resigned in protest of Attorney Gen. William Barr’s controversial order on investigating election fraud.
Other changes include:
- Lisa Gordon-Hagerty is out as admin of the National Nuclear Security Admin;
- Bonnie Glick, deputy admin of USAID, was replaced by John Barsa;
- Neil Chatterjee is out as chair of the FERC; and
- Per CNN, retired Brig. Gen. Anthony Tata becomes DOD policy chief, after James Anderson resigned.
