'Top 100' contractor misconduct
In fiscal 2020, the government continued to award huge contracts to “Top 100” vendors that have a history of misconduct, according to a new report from the Project on Government Oversight (POGO), a non-profit watchdog group.
The lapses occurred while contract spending hit a record high of $666 billion. That’s up 40% from fiscal 2016.
The group’s database for all years covers 251 contractors and 2,921 misconduct instances, totaling $162 billion in penalties and settlements.
