More oversight
Federal agencies need to do a better job of overseeing contractors that operate the agencies’ information systems, the Government Accountability Office said in a new report.
Five of the six large departments and agencies reviewed by the GAO fell short on ensuring that contractors met information security and privacy requirements for the agency systems..
GAO said five of the agencies had no procedures in place and it recommended they develop procedures.

Innovation in contracting
The White House released a 91-page guide to how federal agencies are being innovative in contracting without requiring changes in current laws or regulations.
The Innovative Contracting Case Studies guide was issued by the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy in cooperation with the Office of Federal Procurement Policy.
