Protest upheld for award affected by acquisition
FCi Federal Inc. won its protest of an award to PAE Professional Services Inc., formerly known as USIS PSD, which had been recently acquired. The $209 million award was for field office support for US Citizenship & Immigration Services.
The Government Accountability Office said it overturned the award because the agency failed to carry out its duty to reevaluate the contract after the sale of USIS PSD.
The decision may have implications for other federal contractors.

GSA may drop 2-year experience requirement for IT
The GSA is considering dropping its requirement that IT contractors have at least two years of corporate experience before selling to the government on Schedule 70.
The GSA issued a “Sources Sought” notice seeking feedback on its proposal to cut that requirement in order to attract “new and emerging small businesses” to Schedule 70.
GSA has drafted language to allow potential IT contractors without two years of corporate experience to submit offers.

New app automatically checks for data errors
Federal agency officials have a new tool to check for and correct the many presumed errors in the government’s procurement databases.
PotomacWave executives say their FedDataCheck automatically scans 90 data points in the Federal Procurement Data System-NG contract award information. The software looks for possible federal acquisition violations and data inconsistencies, sends email alerts to the contracting officers involved when errors are found; and reports on data quality.
Five federal agencies currently subscribe to the service, GovExec reported.
