Paid sick leave in effect
Also, non-retaliation rule for disclosing wages
The Trump Administration approved as final an interim regulation on paid sick leave for federal contractors dating from Dec. 16, 2016.
The regulation, which went into effect on Aug. 22, requires that employees on certain federal contracts can earn up to 7 days or more of paid sick leave annually, including paid leave for family care. It also implements the Labor Dept.’s paid sick leave for contractors rule published on Sept. 30, 2016.
The sick leave rule applies to construction contracts covered by the Davis-Bacon Act; services contracts covered by the Service Contract Act; contracts for concessions; and contracts in connection with federal property or lands and related to offering services for federal employees, their dependents, or the general public. The regulations do not apply to contracts for manufacturing or supply contracts.
In addition, the final rule to implement Non-Retaliation for Disclosure of Compensation Information went into effect Aug. 22.
