OASIS SB to add vendors
The General Services Administration’s popular “OASIS” multiple-award professional services acquisition vehicle is preparing to add potentially hundreds more small businesses.
The GSA announced that a solicitation to expand Pool 1 of OASIS Small Business vendors will be released on or about Sept. 9.
Pool 1 includes consulting, logistics, engineering, scientific, management consulting and project management. Pool 1 is the most popular pool with a size limit of $15 million in sales.
In addition, there will be an on-ramp for small business contractors to OASIS Small Business Pool 3, which is for NAICS code 541330 for Engineering Services. This includes engineering for military and aerospace equipment, military weapons, marine engineering and naval architecture and engineering. The maximum size is $38.5 million.
There also will be an on-ramp for OASIS Small Business Pool 4, which is for research work under NAICS codes 541713, 541714 and 541715. This includes work in nanotechnology, biotechnology, and research and development in physical, engineering and life sciences. The size limit is 1,000 employees.
Overall, Pools 1, 3 and 4 are expected to expand to include 500 small business vendors in total, GSA officials wrote in the GSA Interact announcement on Aug. 21.
OASIS is classified as a Best-in-Class contract that has generated $10 billion in obligations since launching in 2014. More than 48% of OASIS spending has gone to small firms, Roger Waldron, president of the Coalition for Government Procurement, wrote in a recent blog entry (Read it in this issue's column).
