Set-aside volume explodes

80% are for any small business

     As fiscal year-end approaches, the number of set-aside opportunities being issued per day is climbing dramatically.

      In the first months of the year, there were an average of 50-80 set-asides posted per day. In the past two weeks, that number has jumped to an average of 225 per day. On August 15, agencies posted 268 set-aside opportunities, the highest daily total so far this year.

      By category, over the past six months, 80% of the set-asides are for any small business. This is consistent with previous years. .......
