SBDCs performance said improving
The performance of the Small Business Administration’s 63 development centers has improved in the last two years, Allen Gutierrez, associate administrator for the SBA’s Office of Entrepreneurial Development, said at a recent Senate committee hearing.
The Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) offer technical assistance under cooperative agreements with universities.
Gutierrez said that when he was appointed in May 2017, the overall performance goals of the SBDC program as a whole were being met, but 41% of the SBDCs met only a single performance goal, or none.
“Under my leadership,” he said, the number of SBDCs that meet only a single goal, or no goals, has dropped to 29%, Gutierrez told the Senate Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committee.
