Alliant 2 evaluation weighed to past performance
Past performance is expected to be the key factor in competition for the upcoming Alliant 2 Small Business.
Past performance is expected to account for up to 40% of the evaluation points, according to Arun Sankaran, managing director at Govini, a business intelligence firm, according to a Nextgov report.
Alliant 2 SB has a $15 billion ceiling and is one of the largest IT contracts of the year.
Using a fairly new approach, bidders are to self-score their experience and certifications in a point-based system. The 80 top small business scorers will be awarded Alliant 2 SB contracts (See this issue's column on Alliant 2 SB).

Chabot, Velazquez claim Schedules prices are lower
The leaders of the House Small Business Committee are defending the prices on the GSA Schedules, claiming they are often lower than the prices offered on Category Management contracts.
Reps. Steve Chabot, R-OH, and Nydia Velazquez, D-NY, made several allegations in an April 5 letter to General Services Administration chief Denise Turner Roth.
“While Category Management has been billed as the strategy that can get agencies the lowest price, all evidence the committee has seen points to the contrary,” their letter said. “In fact, in many cases the MAS contract holders continue to provide lower prices versus those offered by Category Management contract holders.”
Chabot and Velazquez also accused GSA of awarding only 18% of its contracts to small businesses in fiscal 2015, rather than 44% as was written in the SBA’s scorecard.
Chabot and Velazquez did not provide evidence to support their claims. Further information was not immediately available.
