SBA seeks big increase in field offices funding
SBA’s field offices would get a large boost in funding next year if President Joe Biden’s budget is approved by Congress.
Under the plan, the SBA field offices’ counseling programs would receive $23.1 million, up from $14 million in fiscal 2021 and $17.7 million estimated in fiscal 2022.
In addition, the SBA’s field office training programs would receive $27.3 million, up from $16.2 million in fiscal 2021 and $22.7 million in fiscal 2022.
(Note - Congress’ final 2022 enacted budget was not available at the time the budget request was written, so the SBA’s 2022 figure is an estimate).
The total budget for the field offices would be $50.4 million, in comparison to $30.2 million in fiscal 2021 and an estimated $40.4 million in fiscal 2022.

Polaris protest dismissed by GAO
A pre-award protest by BD Squared of GSA’s multiple-award Polaris contract was dismissed on April 25, the GAO announced. The GAO did not release the protest documents, saying it generally does not do so in a dismissal.
Fedscoop reported that GSA has agreed to fix the concerns raised in the protest, and will be releasing a revised solicitation shortly.
