Democrats unveil $760B infrastructure plan

      U.S. House Democrats proposed to spend $760 billion over five years to strengthen the nation’s deteriorating roads and bridges and reduce pollution.

      The report would boost small businesses in manufacturing, construction, clean energy and transportation, according to a report from Rep. Nydia Velazquez, D-NY, chair of the House Small Business Committee.

      The plan would create more than 10 million jobs, mostly in small business construction and transportation, Velazquez’ report said.

BIA update for IHS

      An industry insider told Set-Aside Alert that an update on the Indian Health Services’ use of the Buy Indian Act is anticipated at an upcoming meeting with the HHS OSDBU. Native firms are being encouraged to attend the March 18-19 event in Phoenix, AZ.

SBA’s SBIR tour

      SBA officials are launching a “road tour” to publicize SBIR, including:

  • April 13-17: VA, NC, SC and GA;
  • June 1-5: NE, MO, IL and IN;
  • Aug.10-14: MT; ID; UT and WY; and
  • Nov. 2-6: MS, LA, TX, OK and AR.
