GSA prof. services schedules migration to begin Jan. 1
The General Service Administration is consolidating its professional services schedules in accordance with its new “category management” approach.
Migration to a single new, consolidated “Professional Services Schedule”--as it is tentatively named--begins on Jan. 1.
Many schedule holders may not be ready for the complicated changes ahead, according to Bloomberg Government.
“Too few companies are prepared to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the consolidation of eight GSA professional services schedules,” Bloomberg Government said in a news release.
Currently, there are over 4,400 professional services contracts on eight schedules. More than 500 contractors are on more than one of those schedules. The GSA asserts that the scope of those schedules often overlap, which causes confusion. Also, some agencies need to purchase complex services involving several schedules. The GSA hopes for greater visibility and efficiency by consolidating the eight into a single schedule.
The schedules to be consolidated are Consolidated (OOCORP); MOBIS (874); PES (871); FABS (520); AIMS (541); LOGWORLD (874V); Environmental (899) and Language (738II). They will cease operation on Feb. 28, the GSA said.
