New chair for House small biz
As expected, Rep. Steve Chabot, R-OH, will be the new chairman of the House Small Business Committee in the new Congress starting in January.
Chabot, who is currently the senior Republican on the panel, was voted into the chairmanship by his GOP peers, replacing Rep. Sam Graves, R-MO, who will step down due to the party’s self-imposed term limits for chairmanships.
Chabot was named the #1 “Most Conservative” lawmaker in the House in 2013 by the National Journal. He has co-sponsored bills to streamline financial reporting for small businesses and to force the EPA to withdraw a clean water regulation.
