Bill: Vendor points for labor practices

Federal contractors would be rewarded with “preferential points” based on their labor practices, under a bill to be introduced by Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-DC.

Norton is a senior member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

“Points would be given to vendors and contractors that pay their employees a living wage with benefits without passing on additional costs to the federal government, as well as for permitting workers to unionize,” states a news release from Norton’s office.
