GSA: Reverse auctions stop
The General Services Administration announced it is shutting down its online Reverse Auctions website.
Calling it a “difficult” decision, Erville Koehler, acting deputy commissioner, wrote in a letter to users that “unfortunately, the platform did not prove to be financially viable.”
No new auctions will be created or managed after Sept. 30. Existing auctions with end dates after Oct. 1 will be allowed to conclude as scheduled. System access for document retrieval will be available through Dec. 31.
