Accelerated payments change gets pushback
The Professional Services Council requested that the White House revise its new policy regarding accelerated payments to small business federal contractors.
In a June 15 memo, the Office of Management and Budget eliminated federal agencies’ quarterly reporting on the accelerated payments, while also encouraging agencies to continue the payments to the best of their ability. (See June 23 edition of Set-Aside Alert).
PSC’s Senior Vice President Alan Chvotkin wrote that there is “confusion” on whether the recent memo cancels OMB’s January 2017 order directing the agencies to make the accelerated payments. The more recent OMB memo only “encourages” such payments.
PSC recommends that OMB cancel previous memos and issue a new memo ordering the payments.
