GSA’s Tech and Acquisition Services to Merge
New FAS Commissioner a political appointee; TTS run by FAS
The General Services Administration’s acquisitions service has announced major changes, including several that surprised observers.
On June 7, the GSA announced that the Technology Transformation Service (TTS), a service line created a year ago focusing on innovation, would be merged into the Federal Acquisition Service. It has been renamed as Technology Transfer Services. Its current director, Rob Cook, will remain.
The GSA also said the position of FAS Commissioner will be designated a political appointee, instead of a career executive as is the case currently.
