VA exec alleges card abuse

A Veterans Affairs Department senior executive has accused the department of buying $1.2 billion worth of prosthetics improperly on purchase cards.

The VA is investigating that and other charges made in a memo by Jan Frye, deputy assistant VA secretary for acquisition and logistics.

VA officials have said the prosthetics were from specialized suppliers who don’t have contracts yet.
