Where’s the small biz scorecard?
Fiscal 2016 ended more than seven months ago, but information on small business participation in federal contracting is not yet widely available.
The White House’s Small Business Dashboard on the Data.gov website had been providing updated unofficial totals for small business contracting on a regular basis, but the website has been unavailable in recent weeks.
Official data is expected when the Small Business Administration releases its annual Small Business Procurement Scorecard, typically between late April and early June.
Meanwhile, Set-Aside Alert pulled unofficial data from the Federal Procurement Data System suggesting that small business participation dropped to 22.5% last year. It was the first year that overseas awards were included in the tally. We will be publishing more information in the next issue.
