CAAC class deviations
In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Civilian Agency Acquisition Council (CAAC) in recent weeks has issued two class deviations from the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and intends to issue a third.
The recent CAAC memos are:
- Class Deviation from the FAR to provide for accelerated payments to small business contractors and subcontractors;
- Class Deviation from the FAR Regarding Customary Progress Payment Rates Based on Costs; and
- Consultation to Issue a Class Deviation from FAR to eliminate hard copy original documents, signatures, notarization, seals on bonds and other seals for certain contract requirements.
