New small biz show coming to town
SBA execs amid talks on how to flip houses, ‘10X your income’
A networking event is coming to DC next week featuring a Small Business Administration executive as a speaker.
But the Small Business Expo on April 19 is not your typical buttoned-down DC event.
This expo also offers sessions on:
- How to flip real estate for “massive profits.”
- Learning the “five secrets” to “10X your income.”
- Discovering the “seven keys to creating unlimited prosperity.”
It is a change from the usual events in which SBA participates, which typically have government and industry specialists talking about government programs including loans, grants, contracting and training in a serious tone.
By comparison, at this expo, in just 30 minutes you can learn “how to get business funding, buy and sell companies and make 6-7 figures annually.”
Call it a “get-rich-quick” flavor, entertainment or perhaps inspiration. Either way, this event is different from other events in which SBA has appeared in the DC area.
It is too early to say whether this is a one-off for the SBA under its new administrator, Linda McMahon, a wrestling show entrepreneur, or whether it signals a change of direction in the kinds of events the agency participates in.
The expo, hosted by The Show Producers in New York, travels to major cities with its roster of speakers.
It added SBA’s Julie Clowes, deputy district director for the Washington Metropolitan Area District Office, for the DC event. Another SBA business development specialist also will be on hand.
SBA publicized the expo on its events page and pushed out bulletins to the media.
