GSA reverse auction platform grows

The General Services Administration’s reverse auction platform reported a 1000% increase in sales volume within the last year, according to Joan E. Kornblith, a spokeswoman for the Federal Acquisition Service.

Sales increased from $737,000 in the first quarter of fiscal 2014 to $10.8 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2015, Kornblith wrote in a recent blog entry (http://goo.gl/NWDMAq).

The Web-based GSA platform is at http://ReverseAuctions.gsa.gov.

Since it was launched in July 2013, the platform has been used for $24 million in contracts, of which $22 million went to small businesses.
