Trump: 5% cut for agencies; $700B for DOD

      President Trump said he would ask his Cabinet to cut their agency budgets for an across-the-board cut of at least 5% next year. Some agency budgets would be reduced more deeply, he added. As for DOD, the president said he anticipated a budget of $700 billion, down from $716 billion currently.

GSA-OPM merger

      The recent resignation of OPM Director Jeff Tien Han Pon after just 7 months, and his replacement by a high-level White House official, could speed up the anticipated merger of GSA and OPM, according to a report by FCW.

eBuy transparency

      The GSA announced it is launching a pilot program, eBuy Open GSA First, to improve transparency and increase competition through the online eBuy system. GSA will publish post-award RFQ information in the program.
