Some GWACs to be Phased Out

GSA will retire four of its small governmentwide acquisition contracts because they duplicate the offerings on other contracts, Administrator Stephen Perry said.

The Disaster Recovery, Reverse Auctions, Seat Management and Virtual Data Center GWACs will be allowed to expire and will not be re-competed.

In addition, the larger Millennia and Answer GWACs will be combined.(SAA, 10/3)

The consolidations will not affect Millennia Lite , the FAST 8(a) GWAC or the HUBZone GWAC. Perry told the House Government Reform Committee Oct. 2. “They foster small business opportunities, help agencies meet socio-economic goals and complement the services provided on the larger GWACs and the multiple award schedules,” he testified.

Perry said the agency is considering establishing a GWAC set aside for service-disabled veteran owned businesses.
