Are Contracting Officer Representatives getting good training?

Federal training and certification of Contracting Officer Representatives is falling short, according to a new report by the General Services Administration’s Office of Inspector General.

The Federal Acquisition Service is not consistently implementing guidance and best practices for the training, possibly leaving the contracting officer representatives with gaps in their knowledge and underqualified to perform their roles, the report said.
