Per diems rise

      Federal employees who travel for work will get a boost in their daily travel allowance in fiscal 2018.

      The “per diem” rate set for most regions by the General Services Administration rose to $144 per day, from $142 per day. The new daily reimbursement is $93 for lodging and $51 a day for meals and incidental expenses,

      Some regions will get reductions, including Scranton, PA and Youngstown, OH.
