A-76 Competitions
These competitions are not set-asides, but may be suitable for small firms.

The National Park Service has announced a standard competition for maintenance services at the Natchez Trace Parkway in Tennessee. Services are currently performed by 71 government employees. The Department of Education’s Office of the Chief Financial Officer is conducting a standard competition for payment processing services. The services are currently performed nationwide at most of the department’s facilities. Services being competed include, for the entire department, the timely and accurate authorization, approval, and issuance of funds to satisfy obligations pursuant to a proper request for payment, including assurance of compliance with strict accountability policies, for contracts, purchase cards, travel, and payments made by Treasury between ED and its partnering agencies against inter-agency agreements for goods/services. The Agriculture Department’s Natural Resources Conservation Service is converting several hundred competitions to the new streamlined format under the revised OMB Circular A-76. The competitions are being conducted by NRCS’s state offices in five categories:
•clerical and administrative support, NAICS code 561110;
•mailroom services, NAICS code 561210;
•soil conservative technician services, NAICS code 541990;
•soil conservation technical services, NAICS code 541990; and
•soil mapping services, NAICS code 541370.
An Agriculture Department official said the studies envision statewide contracts covering several offices, each with only a handful of employees.
