US Government reached 24.34% in small biz procurement in FY2016
Fourth year in a row that Obama Administration exceeded goal; Disabled veterans goal met; but not HUBZone or women-owned
The Obama Administration exceeded the 23% statutory goal for small business procurement for the fourth year in a row in fiscal 2016, the Small Business Administration announced.
The total value of small business federal contracts rose to $100 billion, up from $91 billion in fiscal 2015.
However, in percentage terms, there was a new calculation to consider. There was a significant change in the value of contracting dollars for which small businesses were to be considered eligible.
In fiscal 2016, the SBA for the first time included overseas contracts in the pool of eligible contracts, and the total value of the eligible contracts increased to $411 billion, from $352 billion the year before. As the pool expanded, ...more....
