Size standards rule
Effective March 17, small business size standards are changing under a final rule for Manufacturing & Industrial Employee-Based standards, except for Wholesale & Retail Trade. The 500-employee standard is retained for suppliers under the non-manufacturing rule.

CIO-SP4 protests
Seventeen new protests have been filed after second round evaluations were released on the NIH’s CIO-SP4 contract .The value of the contract is estimated at $50 billion. GAO has until May to decide the protests.

Vet commute dropped

A chance for Syed?
Since 2021, Republicans on the Senate Small Biz panel have repeatedly skipped the votes on confirming Biden nominee Dilawar Syed to be SBA’s deputy administrator. The strongest objections were from Sen. Rand Paul, R-KY, former Ranking Member, due to Syed’s ties to a get-out-the-vote group for Muslim Americans. Critics called that an anti-Muslim bias.
