Debt ceiling needs vote
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Jan. 30 urged Congress to raise the U.S. debt ceiling “as soon as possible”--and definitely by mid- March--to avoid a catastrophic default on the U.S. debt. Republicans control both the House and Senate.
Congress already faces a Feb. 8 deadline to either pass a 2018 budget, approve another temporary funding measure or shut down the government again. There have been four Continuing Resolutions of temporary funding thus far...more....
