More time on mentor rules
Comments due by Feb. 7
The Small Business Administration has extended the deadline to comment on its recent proposed rule to merge the 8(a) and All Small mentor-protege programs. The rule has more than 50 provisions affecting small business contractors, including:
- Eliminating the requirement for 8(a) joint ventures to submit the joint venture to SBA for prior approval; and
- Requires firms to recertify size and/or socioeconomic status for set-aside orders under unrestricted MACs, except for FSS BPAs.
